Hi. I built 2 identical PC's and neither wants to boot.
Specs:
Corsair iCUE 4000X RGB Case
Corsair RM 850X power supply
Asus Z590-A Motherboard
Intel i5 10600K 10th Gen Comet Lake 6-Core 4.1Ghz LGA 1200 125W
Samsung 970 evo 1TB nvme
G.Skill Ripjaws 32x1GB RAM DDR4-3200 Intel XMP 2.0 Ready
EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0 8GB GDDR5, RGB LED, 10CM FAN, 10 Power Phases, Double BIOS, DX12 OSD Support (PXOC) Graphics Card 08G-P4-627
NZXT Kraken X53 Cooling
TP-Link WiFi 6 AX 3000PCIe WiFi Card (Archer TX3000E) up to 2400mbps, Bluetooth 5.0, 80211.AX Dual Band Wireless Adapter
This is my 5th & 6th build. Never ran into a problem before. I notice this motherboard has an additional 4 pin power connector to the left of the standard 8 pin power connector near the top left of the motherboard. When I plug in the power cord to the power supply, the RGB lights do light up on the motherboard only. So I know it's getting power. But that's where it ends. It will not boot at all.
I put the 1 stick of RAM into the DIMM A2 slot as recommended on motherboard manual.
On the 2nd PC built it exactly the same minus the EVGA graphics card. So I can reach and press the power button next to the 6 SATA ports. Motherboard gets RGB lighting but still will not boot up. I checked all case wiring requirements, USB to motherboard connectors including the ones for the KRAKEN X53 cables for water cooling.
I double checked the power consumption requirements:
Motherboard (254 watts)
CPU (125W)
NvME (6W)
RAM (11.85W)
EVGA GPU (315W)
KRAKEN X53 (3.84W)
Total wattage used = 715.69 Watts from a 850 Watt power supply.
I am at a loss here. Please help me figure out what is wrong. What did I miss? Thanks in advance.
