Can not run Corel Paint Shop Pro 4 in Windows 8

When I install Corel Paint Shop Pro 4 in Windows 8, the installation succeeds but when you click on the icon to start the program, It will not run. There is no way I can get it to run. I tried installing Corel Paint Shop Pro 3 and got the same results.

if windows eight has a "program files x86" as in seven, you can try this :
- install psp4 on a pc on windows XP
- copy in hdd C > Windows > program files > PAINT SHOP PRO
- paste on pc Windows 8 in "program files x86" the PAINT SHOP PRO FILE, open it and use psp.exe

it worked for me in seven64

Applying an update to PSP X3 also solves the problem with Win 8 Release Preview. The proper patch is Service Pack 5, first listed. It is a 66meg download.
