As the title says I can't login to origin using my local account whereas I can login and play games without any problems with my Administrator account. I converted my local account to Administrator account but bupkes. Whenever I try to login from local account Origin says that I'm not connected to the internet or Online login is currently unavailable.

I can run all other apps like Steam, Uplay, Battle.net, Epic Games Client without any issues, but only Origin refuses to comply. It just happened suddenly overnight, and what's more perplexing is that when I login to my admin account I see only EA games' shortcuts on home screen and nothing else. I have no idea how this happened.

Tried compatibility mode, tried right-click run as admin mode, re-installed origin but nothing worked. As far as I know, after perusing the internet for solutions for god knows how long, it seems I'm the only one with this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to swap windows accounts all the time to just play Origin games.

I noticed another strange thing. I cannot login to this (origin) website from my local account as well. I can only login from the original Admin account. Doesn't make any sense! Why can't I login to a origin website from my local account?! The login and register buttons are unclickable. Only Admin account works for anything Origin related; be it the client or the websites. I don't have a problem like this with any other client or website. Figure that out.

Nope. No cigar. Also, I can't even click on create another account tab or 'forgot your password' option on the client. But I got no problems doing any of that with my admin account. I think this problem started when I activated the hidden admin account. I did that to troubleshoot the windows store app(which didn't work out by the way because you can't even launch the app in admin acc) but even after deactivating, it didn't solve my problem.

Ok lets try it another way. since you do have access as administrator, login as one and find the Origin exe file. Right click on the file and open its properties. Go to the compatibility tab and configure the file to run as administrator. Then login on your normal account and start Origin. It should then ask your for the admin password and with any luck work correctly.

I did as instructed and as always I get this error: 'You must be online when logging in for the first time.' If that is the case then how the hell am I playing Overwatch, Steam games, Epic games and Uplay games (multiplayer modes)?!

And that's the entire problem-- Origin is getting blocked or unable to connect to internet. I have no antivirus installed, all the relevant ports have access and all Origin related apps are excluded from the firewall list ( and I even turned it off completely multiple times to see if it would work).

Hahaha did you not read my previous post? I specifically mentioned that I don't have antivirus installed and I've also made sure that all the relevant ports are free to pass through the firewall. And yes, I already read that FAQ before making a thread here and made sure that nothing is amiss. Believe me, I've covered all the usual bases. I really wish I never activated my admin account.

Yeah, that didn't work the first time so I doubt it will now. All it does is say that 'oops something went wrong' or something along that line. Origin just doesn't update. And that's exactly why I was forced to install it in the admin account. Like I said installing origin in the local account is currently impossible. The only reason I was able to even able to start the client in the local account was because I installed it in the admin account. Honestly, this wasn't an issue a week ago. It just happened overnight. And what's strange is only the EA games' shortcuts were created on the desktop in the admin account as shown in the picture linked above. Why only EA games? That remains a mystery.

Guess I'm very unlucky then lol because I already scoured the entirety of all the related threads in the EA forums but none of the 'solutions' worked. I don't post a thread for technical issue unless I have made that I've researched and tried all the solutions. I usually find what I need but this time I got a bum deal and found out that this particular problem is unique to me. At least from what I've seen so far. I even had some technicians over to solve the problem but at the end when thy couldn't figure out the solution, they said I had no choice but to swap accounts and play.

yeah did that but the problem persists. It launches then says critical update failed then goes into offline mode.

ps: I appreciate you're sticking with me so far.

Whew that took some time but nope, no luck again. Got the same error as stated in the previous post. It def has something to with activating the admin account. Origin now only responds to elevated permissions. Even if I launch the game as admin in my local account it fails to connect to the internet, however, it connects instantly on my admin account.
