Can someone help me build a PC

Hi i want to build a computer. I mainly want it to run starcraft 2 at full "blast". I would be needing the tower case and all of the components inside it. I already have a windows 7 disk, keyboard, mouse and monitor (LCD). My budget is $500 and would like the system to be built around the Core i5. But if any of you guys recommend anything else please do so.

if i choose a core i5 over that AMD cpu what difference would it make? If it makes a huge difference can you build be a PC around the core i5 for $600-$700. (Preferably $600 range).

I still think WhiteFang is correct... even with your adjusted budget, an i5 is not the ideal processor for you. You'll be making too many concessions to accommodate it at the expense of other components. I have an i5 and it's a wonderful CPU, but my build was around $1200.

$500-$1000 gaming build = AMD Athlon II / Phenom II
$1000-$1400 gaming build = i5-750
$1400+ = i7-920

Obviously that's just my opinion, but I think for the most part it's good advice in all but the rarest of circumstances.

I agree with rodney with the exception you might want to use 1200 as the lowest in for the i5.

I'm a fan of everything in whitefang's suggestion except for the DDR2 motherboard and Ram. You could swap those out for something with DDR3.
