Can someone Please help me with linux?

Ive been trying for hours and been frustrated while trying to install chromium on my old HP Compaq d220 mt. I installed chromium through cloud ready, loaded it onto a USB stick, went into the bios boot options, disabling boot from the hard drive, restarted the computer, but no matter what I do I get left with the message:

Boot Failure
Reboot and Select proper Boot device
or insert Boot Media in selected Boot Device
Press any key when ready

Can someone please help me with my problem. I just want to get a few extra miles out of my old PC. Thank You

Did you go through the steps to make the USB device bootable -- https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/create-a-usb-stick-on-windows

I use Rufus to make a USB stick bootable.

Also, if you can't get Chromium to work try Linux Mint.

Or Ubuntu. You can't go wrong with Mint or Ubuntu, and they install fairly easily.
