hey there. thinking of buying asus with intel i5 processor, 8gb ddr3, 1tb sata and nvidia geforce gt720m 2gb graphics. its for my daughter, an avid sims player. will this work for sims 3?

The Sims 3 is a complete resource hog. 1 base game and 20 expansion paks not to mention the online goodies you can purchase and download or obtain free from the Exchange. The updates can be buggy as well.
Best advice is to clean up your hdd before you install these games.
I have the entire collection (sans 'Future') and it seems after updates to Island Paradise I encountered a bug that caused the game to lock up. It would stutter back and forth. After a clean install it works great, but I only installed 3/4 of the set and took only some of my online purchases from the website.
