Plextor 16x/10x/40x - around $180 on www.pricewatch.com
PLextor 20x/10x/40x - around $220 on www.pricewatch.com
80/16 - 5 minutes
80/20 - 4 minutes
5-4=1, you pay around $40 for 1 minute faster recording.
What is the point?

No, but it's the faster rewrite times that...oh wait, no it's not. It must be the faster read times that...oh wait, no it's not.
Ok, people are stupid :)
I went with the 12/10/40 Teac anyway.

Depends :)
It is 1 minute per CD - if you record along the burner lifetime 1000 CDs, then you'll be paying just 4 cents a minute - not to bad ;)
It is 25% faster and it costs about 22% more
I'd probably buy the 16x though...
