Recently, I've decided to build my own computer rather then to commit to a 48-month lease. The only problem is that I cannot find a Canadian online store for hardware so I could be able to spend the least amount of money as possible.

If you could direct me to a good Canadian (online) store, I would be forever grateful!

NCIX, use Pricematch.

Nope. Go to www.ncix.com, and their company has a "pricematch" system where they will match competitors' prices. They're a good company to deal with, I find. But their prices sometimes have to be pricematched before you find yourself getting a good deal.

NCIX

I've used them and they have really good prices most of the time. Never had to return anything and I have bought a lot from them. My only suggestion is to use the pricematch like arrow said and to call them and not order online. When you call them you might be able to get your shipping charges reduced or voided if you are a smooth talker or if you are ordering a lot of stuff.

I would not order stuff from them during the xmass season if you need it right away. I ordered a fairly large order from them and it took an extra week and a half to get to me. I have had no complaints so far and I have been using them for a couple of years now. Those guys have a lot of my money. LOL

if you're around toronto (ottawa, windsor, kingston, etc.) then go for www.canadacomputer.com. Great prices. Only thing is is that you have to call to place and order, no online ordering.

Satan Clara...... 'Nuff said.

ATIC is known in Vancouver for having the absolute worst customer service there is. Their sales representatives are rude, and they will kick you out of the store if you annoy them. The only reason why they are making so much money is that they have cheap prices and are often able to get the newer technologies earlier than other Canadian companies.

Yup, especially when you point out a flaw in their policies or you point out that they're not honoring their policies in a particular case.

After a lot of shopping, my personal recommendation is pccanada (www.pccanada.com) absolute best prices, and they've been great with me even if I was bugging them twice a week asking when they were going to get 266Bus AMD chips in. I haven't used their online ording, I go to the store, but it looks pretty good. It's updated every other day at the most, and has links to info and reviews of their products.

I get almost all my stuff from pccanada. Great store and great prices. They don't have the best selection out there, but they are getting more stock in all the time. I find that 85% of the time their prices are the lowest, and I know a few really good low priced online stores.

I agree, they are a bunch of bastards.........
funny how they have those 'customer service awards' Hell, they probably bribed someone...

One thing that you didn't mention is that if they have a part out of stock they will try to sell you a lower quality one for the exact same price.... that's why they get you to write down the parts and prices on a piece of paper ->so they can charge you that price no matter what they give you.

Their salesman know less than a bucket of [peep].

One guy was trying to sell me a $115 modem saying it would be better for my server... or some [-peep-] like that that made absolutely no sense. i think he was just trying to confuse me by using a big word.

luvs and hugs ian

Here's a good place for some hard-to-find stuff (don't know much about them, though)

Apple? Macintosh? What are these strange words you speak?

Check out my site... Mark099's Computer Hardware Buyers Guide. It has the best deals in Vancouver, and yes Atic is included. Like them or not, they have some good deals and better selection than anywhere else I know of. Most will ship out of province -- Netlink is best set up for it though.

My buyers guide includes links to the 6 (IMO) best places in Vancouver to buy computer hardware.
