Hi all,

Recently my PC has stopped reading my portable 2TB Silicon Power SSD. It used to be fine for years but now it does not show up in the file explorer or disk management. The only place where it is visible is Device Manager. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device, updating drivers, and using recovery software, but it does not work. I have lots of pictures and documents on this device so any help in fixing this would be appreciated.

You might want to take the drive over to a professional data recovery specialist but please be wary that the chances of recovering data should always be held close to zero. To add, SSD's aren't exactly a good thing to have in order to hold mission critical information.

The more you tamper with the drive, the lower your chances of recovering data off of it are(if you can recover data off of it).

My 2 cents.

If the usb cable is detachable try a different cable.
