I have a windows 7 PC, and recently after getting a linksys WRT 1900 AC router, about 2 days after setting it up I have had problems connecting to the internet (all my browsers such as IE Chrome and Firefox can't connect to the internet), however I am able to play steam games online still. I cannot view profile images or use the in game browser though. Thanks for any help!

Solution
Try the simple
NSLOOPUP www.tomshardware.com

NSLOOKUP www.tomshardware.com 8.8.8.8

The second one should resolve for sure. If only the second one works then you are setting something wrong in your PC when you set the static DNS.

You may have to enable telnet depending on your windows version.

telnet www.tomshardware.com 80
get <enter>

You should get a screen of junk saying it doesn't understand. Pretty much this is to test if port 80 is being blocked. If this works then your browser has a issue if not you need to look for firewall type rules in the router or the pc.

What do I put into the DNS suffix?
also, do i tick the box that says "Change primary DNS suffix when domain membership changes"?

Sorry to be a bother about these simple things
