Cannot enter safe mode

Computer is a dell inspiron 530 desk top .well its got a virus so i performed a virus sweep in safe mode with networking. then restart,, it worked and i was not on it for more than hour. The next day i turned it on and got to my home page and enternet explorer stopped responding so i powered off the computer and when i turned it back on the dell logo came up and then i got a black screen. now i cannot enter safe mode when hitting f8 and only keys that i can use is f2 set up and f12 boot menu.Any body have any answers or advise .

You could download & burn a Recovery Cd / USB from Kapersky from a working computer to boot the infected one and scan for infections.
