So after a windows update my laptops secondary hard drive (1tb) became a raw format, i didn't know what to do so i messed around with diskpart trying to clean and format the drive but nothing worked and eventually the disk had to be reinitialized.

but everytime i try it just gives a data error (cyclic redundancy check)

and no chkdsk won't work because theres no letter assigned to the drive, and i cant assign a letter because it has to be initialized but it cant initialize

Solution
CRC error with an HDD usually means it has failed --- confirm by testing it as already advised by lolnole.

You can also test it with SeaTools for Windows: https://www.seagate.com/gb/en/support/downloads/seatools/
