Question Cannot install Windows 10 on brand new PC

Hi all,

I just custom built a PC (specs below) and when trying to install windows 10 my PC freezes at the first screen (language choice). The cursor sometimes appears on the screen and sometimes doesn't. I cannot turn it off without directly turning off the PSU switch and the whole system seems to freeze.

Any advice?

Specs are:

i7 9600k
16gb ddr4 3200 mhz ram
rtx 2070 gpu
corsair rm 650 w psu
aorus z390 pro mobo

What storage device(s) do you have installed? Are you installing from DVD or USB drive?

I have a Samsung 970 EVO SSD & a Seagate 2TB HDD

I'm installing from a USB drive

Use a back panel (connected directly to motherboard) rather than a front panel USB port. You may need to try a fresh ISO download and write to an alternate USB drive as well.

I got the same problem here bud, i replaced my motherboard and cpu already and my build is still doing the same freezing on windows boot

Have you changed any settings in your BIOS from their default settings?

I am having the same problem, changed the motherboard, yet the boot still freezes. Ran memtest, found no problems there.

You should start your own thread as your issue is likely different based on your particular system.

XMP currently off? Are you choosing UEFI install method for bootable USB? Bootable storage for PCI-E enabled(likely by default these days)?
