Hey Community,
I own a dell xps 9000 (shame on me). I was trying to remove my motherboard earlier to ensure no complications will arrive (as dells are not upgrade friendly) when I order a new one. I could not remove 3 pin/connectors on the motherboard - I stopped short of using enough force in fear of breaking something.

Is there a particular trick to removing these or am I just doing something wrong?

Thanks for your help!

Those can be a little tricky sometimes, but are actually fairly simple to remove. Don't just pull straight up. When you attempt to remove, pull slightly away (from the tab that locks into place) and then up. Should pop right off. Good luck!

On the first and third pictures, you just pull up and away from the white tab on the socket and wiggle slightly. There is no locking mechanism on them. Sometimes if they're particularly hard, you can use a fingernail or flathead screwdriver and *slightly* bend out the tab on the socket away from the plug to aid in releasing it. The second picture, squeeze on the top of the white clip to release it from the socket. Same deal, wiggling slightly will help.
