I recently built a new computer and today it wouldn't boot correctly. When I turn it on, all the fans and lighting will work, but then it won't load past the Aurous logo, nor can I enter the BIOS. It's just kind of frozen there. So far I have tried:

  • Resetting the CMOS with the jumper
  • Resetting the CMOS battery
  • Reinstalling the BIOS with Q-Flash
  • Cycling through the RAM stick and RAM slots
  • Reinserting the CPU power connector
I don't have any overclocking or anything enabled, and I feel pretty stuck. Any other recommendations would be helpful. My systems specs are:

z590 Aurous Pro AX
Intel i5 11600k
Sapphire OC+ 6900 Xt
Gskill Trident 2x16 DDR4 3600
NZXT kraken x63
Corsair 850w HX Platinum

Okay I detached all the drive, the GPU and cycled through the ram slots again. Still got the same issues.

When i do a CMOS reset, when it boots up for the first time, the LEDs cycle through in the bottom corner, then the machine shuts off when it gets to CPU, then resets again. Does that mean there's something wrong with the CPU?

Could be CPU, could be motherboard as well. Unfortunately those two are difficult to diagnose without spares/substitutes. At this stage my suggestion would be to visit the nearest PC store and let them test out each component with spares to locate the issue, starting with those two. You can also try reseating the CPU once before that, but I am not sure whether that will solve the problem.
On a side note, if there is component failure, you should get a debug code on the board.

I was able to get to the BIOS after I removed the boot drive. It can detect other SSDs and NVME drives okay, but when I put the boot drive back in, I'm stuck at the splash page again and can't get to the BIOS, so I'm guessing there's something wrong with the NVME I have installed on the boot drive. I also removed the drive from the spot on the motherboard and installed the drive the a NVME PCIe attachment, and same problem, so I'm thinking it's the drive that's the issue now.

Well then. You seemed to have zeroed in on the source. Install Windows on another drive and RMA that particular NVME.
