TLDR; I thought I broke my hard drive but now it works again!
Hello!
I was transferring some data from an external hard drive to my (C
drive. When I was moving data from the drive, the power in my house went out. When I tried to restart my computer again after the power went out it did not first realize that I had plugged in my mouse and keyboard, I had to unplug them and the plug them in again in order for them to work. Now when I look under the "This PC"-tab in the explorer I can't see my external drive that I was transferring from, however, I do see it in the Device Manager. I have tried unplugging it and plug it in again, didin't work. Is it possible to restore the data on the drive or might it be gone forever? That was my backp drive :/
