Can't connect to dsl 2wire modem

I can't connect to modem after reinstalling windows xp. i have tried resetting the modem, typing in 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.264, homeportal, gateway.2wire.net, etc. but can't reach modem.

First make sure that your wireless adapter shows up in the device manager as working properly. Here is a guide to entering the necessary information into XP: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/wlan_client_connect.mspx?mfr=true

Type http://gateway.2wire.net or http://192.168.1.254 into your browser and then the default encryption key, which is ten digit number below the serial number on the modem label, then you can enter the configuration pages.
