i woke up this morning and my internet was playing up and was disconnecting itself from windows and connecting itself again. i thought that it was normal but it turns out that i cannot connect to any game servers anymore such as fifa 17, rainbow six siege and lawbreakers. Hearthstone has worked for some reason but destiny 2 beta hasnt...... this has happened in the past and i think it m ay have been my antivirus but i cannot remember what i did exactly. any help would be appreciated

Solution
mmmm with such low end titles (CPU/GPU resource wise) You may get away with 4K if your willing to drop settings fairly low to meduim at best. Then when you get your next GPU you should be able to kick up the settings higher. I would likely go with 1440P though with a 120-144hz monitor, something you can't find on 4K (though some solutions are in the pipe now). Tough choice. If you can go to your local PC shop and see the difference between 1440P and 2160P (4K). Then you can purchase based on what you prefer visually. 4K is a huge difference for me on a 55" screen over 1440P...on a 25-35 something inch display the difference is far more subtle.
ok so im fairly ccertain that my only antivirus is malwarebytes, but im not 100% sure. how can i see the antiviruses i have?

ok so i dont think that its necessarily that it wont connect at all, i just think it is incredibly slow as sometimes i can connect to fifa 17 but six siege connects after a long time but kicks me instantly from games

If disabling your anti-virus did not help let try this...

1. unplug your router and Broadband modem. Count to 30 and plug them in again. does this fix things? Yes, your done...no-->

2. Run DDU in safe mode. Redownload and install your drivers after running DDU. Does this fix things? yes, your done...no then lmk and we'll go from there

omg thank you man! restarting my router for like the fifth time did the trick. when i grabbed my router it was unbelievably warm, not sure if thats why. but thank you man. it means alot

quick question on a side note, i have £400 but i want to upgrade my rig abit. i want to get to the higher resolutions. i am not sure whether to keep my 1060 6gb and get a 4k monitor or get a 1080 and use it for 1080p....i play many less demanding games hence why i am considering the 4k monitor

From 1080P, absolutely...the question is would you be able to see the difference between 1440P and 2160P at 30". This is why I urge you to go look in person. I can see the difference but I have friends who don't. Plus you could argue running 1440P with heavy anti-aliasing (8-16x) would give you a similar or better image at that size compared to 4K with no AA on. You GPU should handle some AA at 1440P with higher in game settings then 4k could...you go 4K you will have to turn more eye candy down and running AA would be pretty much out of the question.
