Cant connect to unsecured wifi networks?

Hello! For as long as I've had my laptop, I've been unable to connect to unsecured WiFi networks, from school to work to coffee shops, I just can't connect to them! I have a Compaq Presario CQ57 running Windows 7 Home Premium. I've seen many people who had this problem with Vista, but to no avail. Anyone have a fix for this?

Have you looked for a setting in the WLAN config utility for your WLAN card? Also it would be good to look through any internet security software to see if there's an option.

I've searched through all my internet, security, and firewall settings, but can't seem to find anything that could be causing this.

Delete all your wifi profiles and see if this helps.
