[SOLVED] Can't Create New Volume For Unallocated Space

I just completed a clean install of Windows 10 and I tried to create a partition but it won't let me.

Specs:
OS:Windows 10 Pro x64
CPU: Intel Core i-7 7700k
GPU: GTX 1060 6gb
16gb ram
Motherboard: Asus Z170-A

The HDD's are both 4tb.

Why didn't you allocate ALL of the space to Windows when you did the install? Putting additional non-system partitions on the same drive as the core OS partition (C is usually not a great idea for a variety of reasons.

Is there a specific reason why you didn't include that space for the Windows partition?

Is this the error message you get?

Only the first 2TB are usable on large MBR disks. Cannot create partitions beyond the 2TB mark, nor convert the disk to dynamic.

If that's the case, then it means exactly what it says. You can't use the rest of a 4TB disk if you installed Windows to a MBR partitioned disk.

Greater than 2TB disks need to be partitioned as GPT if you want to use the entire volume for a bootable partition. And to boot from a GPT disk you must enable UEFI mode in the BIOS.
