I plan on getting an entire new pc for Battlefield 3. I've basically picked out two builds and I'm not sure which one to buy. I plan on playing at a 1400x900 resolution monitor and the main game I'm probably going to play is Battlefield 3.

This is the first build:
•AMD FX-4100 3.6Ghz Per Core Quad Core 4MB L2 & 8MB L3 Cache Socket AM3+ Processor
•8GB (2 X 4GB) Dual Channel DDR3 240pin 1333Mhz PC3 10600 Memory
•1TB SATA III 6Gbps 7200RPM 32MB Buffer Hard Drive
•AMD 880G (AM3+ Certified) Chipset Motherboard with HD Audio, Gigabit LAN, SATA II 3Gbps, USB 3.0, PCI-Express X16 2.0
•Nvidia GeForce GTX560 Ti 1GB GDDR5 HDCP High Definition Dedicated Video Graphics Card w/HDMI High Definition Output
•22X SATA Dual Layer Multi-Format DVD/CD Burner
•Mid-Tower Gaming ATX Case w/550W Heavy Duty Power Supply, Front USB and Audio.
*1400*900 Resolution.

This is the second:
•Intel Core i3 560 3.33Ghz Per Core Dual Core Processor LGA 1156 Processor
•4GB (2 X 2GB) DDR3 240pin 1333Mhz PC3 10666 Memory
•500GB SATA II 3Gbps 7200RPM 16MB Buffer Hard Drive
•Intel H55 Chipset Motherboard with HD Audio, Gigabit LAN, SATA II 3Gbps, USB 2.0, PCI-Express X16 2.0
•Nvidia GeForce GTX460 1GB GDDR5 High Definition Dedicated Video Graphics Card w/HDMI 1080P High Definition Output
•22X SATA Dual Layer Multi-Format DVD/CD Burner
•Gaming Mid-Tower ATX Case w/Blue LED
*1400x900 Resolution.

Now,I understand that the first build would perform better, but I'm on a budget. Could the second build perform well on a 1400x900 resolution? What type of FPS would I get? Thanks in advance.

Solution
socket 1156 is dead and Amd is very good about providing upgrade paths in the future so i would save up more to get the AMD.
The second build should work fine for what you want today but you should look towards what you'll want in the future.

Yeah,I kinda agree with that. I was just hoping I could save some of that green

Buying a new platform later will cost more in the long run... so i am saving your money just with less instant gratification 😉
