Not sure exactly where to post this..

I have a problem...

When i use Windows XP i can see my 80GB HD and it was at first NTFS but i formated it using partition magic 8.0 so now it is FAT32 but i still cant see it in Win 98. I tried to partition it to smaller pieces (under 32GB) but that didnt help.

Any suggestions?

How many hd's do you have? Which one is your Primary?

Where are they physically hooked up inside your box?

Are you dual booting?

I have 2 hd's, 1 primary 16GB disk with win98 and winXP and 1 80GB hd which is also primary (i have tried both primary and logical).

What do you mean by "Where are they physically hooked up inside your box?" I have 1 IDE-cable and my disk with the OS'es is the master and the 80GB disk is slave.

I am not sure what dual booting is but i gues it is when 2 OS are installed on the same partition? I have win98 on one partition and winXP on another both on the little disk so i gues i am not dual booting.

Yes, you have dual booting. That's when you can choose which one you want to go to at the beginning.

Take the 80g hd off of the same ribbon as the 16g. Make sure the 16g is plugged into Primary IDE or IDE 1.

Jumper the 80g as Master and plug it into the second ribbon, on an end connector, with the other end into the Secondary IDE channel (or IDE 2). Put your cd drive as Slave to that on the middle connector of the ribbon.

Up in the Bios, make sure that the 16g is before the 80 in Boot Priority.

Tell me if 98 sees it now - And, if we had to, can we re-format the 80?
