CANT FIND THE HARDWARE

Running new"just put together PC" 98se...A7V mobo..v7700 video..350 PS...900 TB...PROBLEM...Cannot recognize or f i n d hardware..such aS .(MODEM..USB SPEEDSTREAM) and dial up internal 56 robotic)..series and parallel ports...HAVE removed and reinstalled 98se several time..Bios recognizes PnP..(but something doesn't) Can download drivers from discs,
the web..but the drivers will not install because ..."where's the hrdwr??..The HDD is new and has beem prepared...would formating the HDD and starting over solve anything.??..

If Win boots up and does not recognise the hardware, have you had windiws look for it manually?, also you can specify what the hareware is and tell the os

.. Thanks Garf..The HDD was new ,prepared..must had deleted the wrong things..reformated the HDD again, and all was well. again thanks...Rednu
