So, I've had Dashlane (paid!) for password, CC, etc. storage for over a year now. It's been great because it looks at all existing passwords, tells you what's weak, what's been exposed on the dark web and then automatically goes out and changes them for you using a randomly generated password that it then stores for you.
I had to "refresh" my Windows install (you know, where you reinstall system files and keep personal files and settings). Now when I log into my Dashlane app in Windows, or try to use the plug in in Chrome, I'm asked for a code from my authenticator app. Easy peasy... I have Duo Mobile installed for logging into my work VPN every day.
I look at it and it says that it needs a authentication code or QR Code from Dashlane. Umm.... There's no "button" to generate that. LOL! I go on the website and there's nothing that helps.
I decide to try a new authenticator app. Download and install Authy. Same thing. Says Dashlane should provide a code.
I go back to the website, log in there, it asks me for a code there now too! I then contacted their support. They got back to me within 24-hours saying they needed to verify my identity. I needed to send a copy of my ID, tell them the last four of my CC and list two places I last used Dashlane (scary, right?). I do so and wait...
A week has gone by and I have received ZERO response from Dashlane since I sent them my email. I'm stil locked out and so far have had to do a "change password" on every thing I do that needs a password because all of my passwords were generated and stored in Dashlane!!!
Has anyone run into something like this before? How do you get out of this loop!!!??!!
