Hey all,

I recently purchased a HP omen 15 laptop (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NZVYJPP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
and I finally got it up and running with an SSD, but I cannot seem to figure out how to enable the 144hz that it says on amazon, have gone through display settings, nvidia control panel, even tried to manually set it on intel display settings, but nothing seems to work. If anyone has any suggestions let me know!

Thanks

I have a feeling it's not 144hz panel but 144Hz to an external display using HDMI2, Displayport or UsbC. HP doesn't mention 144hz anywhere on in specs or the manual.

Specific review of this laptop is hard to find, there are so many different but similar models. Some are actually 144Hz that i've seen with a GTX1070.

Did find this, https://www.notebookcheck.net/HP-Omen-15-i5-8300H-GTX-1050-Ti-FHD-Laptop-Review.318520.0.html

Looks like it but just above the specs says for HP Omen 15-dc0001ng so not sure if its the same laptop or not, seems to have the same specs. Searching 15-dc0086nr at notebookcheck only gives that...

It originally came with A 1tb SSD and a 16gb intel optane memory as primary storage. I disabled optane memory, and plugged my m.2 drive into the slot, cloned the windows disk, and set the m.2 drive as the primary boot drive, then wiped the HDD.

Nvidia control panel only consists of 3 settings, the laptop basically is forcing me to use the integrated graphics, if I turn integrated graphics off (intel 630) nvidia graphics don't work. I'm not sure if that helps. and I am not running an external monitor.

The graphics card runs through the igpu's interconnect to the display. That shouldn't prevent 144Hz as either gpu can do it.

Regarding the Nvidia driver, did you install them from Geforce or did you let Windows 10 install via updates?

May have found the issue, windows is being very slow with it's updates, I have an intel corporation display update downloading... not sure why it took 3 days for windows to find it, will keep you updated.
