Hi all,
new here to the forum! im in the process of building my first rig, so im kind of walking in the dark here.
im still in the process of buying parts and what not (im super excited and just want to see the lights light up) so far ive got my case (Corsair Graphite Series 230T Orange), motherboard (ASRock Z87 Extreme4), and psu (Corsair 600W ATX12V).

So ive plugged the case LEDs into the slots in the motherboard but they dont turn on when i power up the rig 🙁. i plugged my phone into the usb ports on the case and it charges so i have power on the board, so what am i doing wrong? sorry if this is a really amateur post but ive had a google search and im coming up with nothing.

cheers mac

no they arnt molex connections, they are small single pin looking things. im plugging it into the right spot (as far as i know) i followed the mobo instructions as to where to plug them in. also just a side note the fans arnt powering up either

Maybe you plugged them into wrong ports. Please Check. Be sure of + & -.

Also since the fans are connected to the motherboard directly, they might be governed by cpu; which i think you haven't installed yet.

If the cpu also doesn't turns up then you might consider replacing the mobo, some minor fault might be preventing power transfer.

Try power checking with multimeter (only & only if you are good at it). I won't recommend short circuiting the board.

Also i also found this video interesting but too long. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ACedfiQPmE

Be sure to post an answer or choose one for future assistance to others. Also keep asking till you find a solution.
