Cant get proper resolution

Hello,
I have the same problem but after reformating computer for new Operating system- xp pro, the resolution DOES NOT Have 2048x1152, anyone have any suggestions, I dont know what video card it is. it just says Display and not Samsung 2343BWX, lierally NOTHING!
