Can't hibernate or restart

Alright, so I have a samsung series 7 laptop and my hard drive failed on it so I replaced it with a samsung SSD 840 evo. (Model number- Np700z5c-s01ub)

Since re-installing windows and installing all drivers my laptop won't hibernate/sleep or restart. When I hit restart or if windows restarts it just turns off or when I put it to sleep it just black screens. Also, I can still hear it running and I see the led's on the front saying there is activity.

However, when I close the lid now or put it to sleep the computer is still running. Seems like the only thing that's happening is the screen turns off.



Any ideas to fix this? Thanks in advance.

I ran the magician software and the firmware updates. Did not help. When i try to restart it just shuts down. Still doesn't wake from sleep properly either. Going to try anonymous1's possible solutions.

Did you run the OS Optimization? It gives you shortcuts and options for each mode of sleep and hibernation.

I did. Currently if I hit shut down the computer does nothing. If I hit restart it shuts down normally and standby does nothing but turning the screen off.
