Hi

Each time I unplug my computer I need to press the CMOS reset switch on the back of the case. Otherwise the computer won't boot. That's why I want to replace the CMOS Battery but I can't find it on my Motherboard. I guess I'm just blind.
Here's the excact model:

Thanks for your help
(Couldn't find it in the manual either..)

Solution
I was looking for that too as a couple of the high end Rampage and Crosshair boards that just came out have them wired to a similar connector glued to and buried under the armor, though it looks a little bigger.

Another model of a ASUS board the battery is on the back of the USB port and 2 pin wire.
EDIT The 2nd link shows the battery the picture is the location and wire.
And again covered up with the heatsink. https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z390-i-gaming-model/

And the manual for this model also fails to mention where the battery is. Although it does mention removing the battery if CLR_CMOS button fails to do its work. So it looks like those Asus boards indeed have battery under heatsink - which also means OP board is probably defective.

Unless maybe he leaves it unplugged so much the battery died? I mean still it shouldn't die that fast, and in the end even if it DID die it should still boot up and not require a hard CMOS reset via the rear button to boot.

FWIW I did the same with my old computers for years and the battery didn't run out. This computer is only 2 months old. OFC it could be an empty/faulty battery from the start but not very likely.

I've now written ASUS support. Let's see what they have to say about this.

Having this same issue. Just turned gear mode to 1:1 in bios and now my system won't boot no matter how many times I clear cmos button or remove ram sticks.
