A couple of times I tried to move/delete a piece of furniture (table, desk,
chair) & I get message that object is currently in use & cannot be selected.
In the case of the table, the sims stopped eating at the table. There were
no other objects on the table & none of the sims were about to use them.....
Does anyone know how I can fix this?

press Control+Shift+C, that opens a little box at the top of the screen.
there type "moveobjects on" and now you can move or delete them even when
they are in use. Remember to turn it off again (moveobjects off) or you
might up deleting or moving stuff that you didn't want to move or delete 😉

Dorte Schünecke waved a magic wand at the 'puter, changed into a moose
(OOPS!) - tried again and came up with:

Since I don't have TS2, I'll assume that this is the cheat code for that
TS2. In The Sims, it's almost the same - Ctrl+Shift+C gets you the cheat
box, but the command is "move_objects on". and the turn off command is
"move_objects off".

It would be a real help if people would mark their posts on which game they
are talking about. It's very simple -- [1] or [2] in the subject line
works. More than one game is covered in this newsgroup. Those three
additional keystrokes would simplify things a lot.

It is exactly the same, I don't know about moveobjects on/off but I allways
use move_objects on/off with TS2 and it works fine, I'm about to play now,
I'll try it out without the underscore.

Oh I always type it like this MoveObjects off or MoveObjects on... it works
for me that way anyhow...

Yeah, it works both ways.
