As the title states, there is not much more to say, I just don't know what else I can do or if it is a bottleneck of some sort with the system.
CPU is overclocked to 4.2GHz with no issue but if I change to ram to anything but 2133MHz it just does not boot.

Specs;
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor 4.20 GHz
Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB (4x8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB GAMING OC WHITE Video Card
Corsair RM (2019) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

ok, so an option that could be easier is to buy the proper compatible sticks of ram for the MB and resell these, don’t think I’d have an issues selling them.
while typing this I’m attempting to OC the ram and have found success at a maximum of 2666mhz.
2666 with all 4? That would be inline with my expectations, I would think 2933/3000 is unlikely but something over 2133 should be possible. If you get 2666 I would just stay at that. I know others have maxed out at 2933/3000 with 2000 series Ryzen and if you fall into that category the difference is really small.

Is the RAM in slots A2 & B2?

With a 2000 series cpu I have seen many on here report they cannot get past 2933/3000mhz. Do either 2933/3000 work when enabled through DOCP?

I have all 4 RAM slots filled. If I change it to anything but 2133MHz it just doesn't boot, I've even tried ramping the Voltage to 1.4 also.

Edited that now
Ah ok. When running 4 sticks it is usual for the maximum possible speed to be lower due to the extra workload on the memory controller, often the motherboard QVL list will show only lower speeds supported when using 4. Add to this that the cpu is a 2000 series which as I mentioned seem to often top out at 2933/3000mhz when using 2 sticks.

This 4x8gb RAM kit I assume is not on the motherboard QVL list for this cpu?

First time hearing about QVL and after a quick search, it seems to be that I have the C18 4x8gb Corsair over the list having the C16 4x8gb model for the motherboard.

Does this mean that the RAM memory is locked?

No it’s not locked just not tested by the motherboard manufacturer and confirmed as compatible. Now the motherboard manufacturer is not going to have tested every combination so you can also use Corsairs Memory Finder and see if they state it should work with that motherboard/cpu.

However I cannot see you achieving 3600mhz with that cpu and 4 sticks. Can you even get 2400, 2666, 2800 or anything above 2133 to work?

It is compatible with the GEN 2 B450-f but I currently have the GEN 1.

Does it distinguish between 2000 and 3000 series Ryzen? 3600mhz on a 2000 series seems unlikely but I could be wrong.

Different gen motherboard so something was changed/improved.

The GEN 1 mb I have states it is compatible with up to 2nd gen ryzen and a max of 3200mhz DDR4 Ram.
I haven't been trying to push the ram past 3200mhz when attempting the OC in the bios.

But that 3200mhz is probably just 2 sticks and not 4. As I mentioned earlier there are a lot of threads on here where people have maxed out at 2933/3000mhz on 2000 series when running just 2 sticks.

What happens when you use 2 in A2 & B2? Can you get 2933/3000/3200?

Yea I think you’re right, I appreciate the help through that and now knowing to look up QVL lists. Planning on picking up a higher end third gen CPU later this year so the ram would be good to keep considering I’d be upgrading Mb for that.
