I want to make a wireless bridge between my two routers with the Zyxel EMG2926 as the wireless access point and the other one wired to the modem. My problem is that after switching the router mode from "Router" to "Access point" the IP address switches to "192.168.0.2" (Originally 192.168.0.1), the issue with that is the following: my main router DHCP IP Address Pool is "10.0.0.X" and I can't change the ip address of the Zyxel to "10.0.0.X" or get it to receive one from my main router DHCP Server because of the reason stated in the title. How can I access the configuration page?

  • Both subnet masks are /24.
  • Changing the IP address before is useless because when switching modes from "Router" to "Access point" it puts it at "192.168.0.2" no matter what it was.\
10/19/2019 Update: i managed to get it to have the ip address "10.0.0.2" with subnet mask "255.255.255.0" but when typing the address in the navigator it says:

"
This site can’t be reached
10.0.0.2 refused to connect.
".

Maybe change the router to 192.168.0.1 if the AP is being a pain.

A solution I would not recommend but will likely work is to assign a secondary IP address to the interface in your PC. You can assign a IP in the 192.168.0.x range. In "should" not cause issues but non standard configuration like this make troubleshooting hard some times.

I can't even access the router now for some reason, even after resetting it it stil receives an APIPA address.
