Hey guys,
I'm trying to reset a Win8 password on a buddy's computer.
Normally I'd run mini-XP on Hiren's boot disk, and fly through the password reset tool.
The problem here is that the laptop's HDD can't be seen by XP because it's too large and the laptop's BIOS doesn't have any setting that allows me to put it into IDE/ATA mode (from some research I guess that's a new thing with modern BIOSes?).
The laptop is a Toshiba C55 series if that helps.
Any thoughts? Maybe some other utility?
I don't have easy access to a Win8 recovery disk.
