Can't use "Open With" in Windows 10???

Whenever I try to open a picture in a different software or even a video the "Open With" option always seems to be greyed out, Its never bothered me until recently and its always been this way for me. Earlier I also wanted to open music in something else but yet again the "Open With" option seemed to still be greys out... Since this I have found that everything I tried opening in something else never works. Does anyone have any idea how I could fix this and what could be causing it?

Has this issue been prevalent from the get go? If not then you can try going for a system restore to a point prior to when the issue wasn't seen. Its evident that SFC / SCANNOW doesn't eventually do anything but take out your time though if it works then it's done it's job if not then you can go with comfort that you tried all possible methods.

If all else fails, you can try going for a re-installation of Windows 10. Might I ask if your OS was from the upgrade path or a clean install? It would help us a little more if you could pass on your full systems specs.

You have the defaults set to something that you don't want to use.

Control Panel\Default Programs\Set Associations.

If you want to use Open with, deselect everything connected with what you are attempting to use Open with for.
