Hi. im having a specific problem regarding windows search. i cant make searches on "this pc" (windows search bar) . i can only make searches on "C" or "D" disks and similar. i use a SSD on DISK "C" and a HDD on "D".

Is there a fix for this?

thanks.

when i try to search anything on the search box on "this pc" and press enter, nothing happens.

for example if i search "backup" on the search box on "this pc" , the words appear on the search box but it doesnt search the pc when i press "enter" . It only searches if pressing enter on "c" or "d" disks.

i use windows 10 Pro.

The image appears to be that of the Paint app.

Please provide screenshots of the applicable Windows Explorer app.
whats the difference ? the paint image explains it all.

the problem is not complex to understand and the image is self-explanatory. i cant search when pressing enter on "this pc" . nothing happens when pressing "enter".

Open Task Manager as Admin.

Expand the Task Manager window and select Performance.

Leave the Performance window open so you can see the listed drives.

Then open File Explorer and slide that window aside if necessary so it can be viewed without blocking the Task Manager window.

Start a search and look for disk activity in Task Manager.

What does or does not happen? Do you see any disk activity at all?

Remove Disk F: (USB external - correct). Be sure to use Safely Remove and Eject Media.

Try a search.

If nothing changes then disconnect Disk D:

Try the same search again.

Objective to determine if the problem relates to the presence of one drive in particular and or the presences of other drives.

My thought is that that USB drive may be a likely culprit. USB drive specs?
