Can't wait for Claw Hammer

I got the wife a Movado watch for Xmas. So she says "I guess this means you want some sort of computer equipment?" (she must know me by now?) Anyway, I told her I'd reserve it until 64 bit chips are out. So I've got the go-ahead on a ClawHammer system (well CPU and mobo anyway). So I'll probably have to wait until something like September when the initial price frenzy dies down to more reasonable levels.

can't wait. Anyone else waiting for the 64's?

i did want it, but then after waiting long and hard since JUNE!!! AHHH im still using a 533mhz celeron, onboard audio, video, 15gb 5400 rpm, pc100 192mb ram, i just couldn't stand it any longer

also after some serious thinking, i don't think the clawhammer is gonna be so great, meaning you can't even use the 64 bit features, cause there is no software for it, and i doubt anything will come out soon... so i decided to go for an Asus A7n8x motherboard, AMD xp2800+, 1 Gb Corsair XMS pc3200 cas2, gf4 ti4200 128mb 8x graphics, .... and 80gb 7200 rpm hd maxtor..

i think it's good enough, it should perform well, obviously like a 1,000 times improvement over the crap im running now.

Is THG Slightly Slacking??

I'm building an A7N8X as we speak. It is FREAKIN SWEET! I agree with the purchase. Have a ball. (unfortunately it's not for me, but I'm at least getting to build it)

Do you know where I can pick up an XP2800? So far all I can find are the XP2700's.

And I do want to get the Clawhammer. I know you can't advantage of the 64bit all of the time but it is suppose to process 32bit apps much faster also. I think it will be worth it...IF IT EVER MAKES IT ON TO THE MARKET!!!...HURRY UP AMD!!!!

I'm sort of used to 64 bit - been using Alpha AXP for years, in fact I've got a few of them at home (castoffs from work). I wonder why it's taking so long for Intel and AMD?

AFA 2800+, Newegg says they should be arriving today. Check their site. They have an "auto-notify" button that will e-mail you when they get them.
