Matt has just finished a very detailed step by step painting guide for
Captain Lysander, the new 40K Character model. It is a different
approach to the guide in White Dwarf, using a nice layered gold effect
on the armour, whicj is very transferable to other models. The guide
can be found at :

Cheers,

Pity the Lysander model is so poor to begin with. The gold looks good,
thought you shoulda basecoated him brown to begin with. The mono-color
shield is ass.

Ugh, ghastly colour scheme. Imperial Fists are supposed to be an
orange-yellow colour not gold. Gold doesn't look right on the figure.

Yes Lysander is an awesome model! Fear his Shield of Nodetail,
oversized scanny bits, horrible thunder hammer and and Goatee of Death!

Gag.

Its a great mini. The only bad points are the silly haircut and goatee,
which can be easily removed.

An unfair accusation. There is plenty of detail on it!

Easily filed off.

Enh, to each his own. I hate the pose, too. There's nothing about this
figure I like, except the fact it's in the new Terminator style.
