i loved carmagedon, if i could easily fire it up today i would.

however a full 3d reboot of a driving game, made on kickstarter money, i just cant see this ending well...
they need to get 2 things right in the game for it to be great.
1) driveing mechanics, i dont care the style of gameplay, bad mechanics here will kill the game
2) great enviorments. games have come a long way from 6 polygon buildings, im not saying they need to have full distruction, but makeing those 6polygon buildings not look 6 pollygon will be a chalange, and one i dont think 1-5 million can solve

if anything, i wish they would port all the old games over to directx or opengl and ditch the dos so everyone can play the games.

and also leave in the software rendering, i really feel that that made the game look better, because i hated the sharp early polygon games, they looked like hell, that blur made the games look... better... more realistic than they were... hard to put it into words.

[citation][nom]nforce4max[/nom]Wow blast from the past I hope that it doesn't suck or watered down like most modern games that only focused on graphics rather than quality of gameplay. Still got my 3dfx rigs going[/citation]

i doubt that , it's being made by the original developers of carmageddon 1 and 2 , with out any publisher input ., the reason why carmageddon TDR 3000 (aka carmageddon 3) sucked was cos the developers strong armed their influence into the game. this is gona be purley C 1 and C2 in scope!

[citation][nom]NuclearShadow[/nom]Oh god yes! I am so donating to this, if I had the money I would fund the whole damn project.[/citation]
you and me both if i win the lottery tomorrow or the next day , or the next ect ect... these guys would be getting a call from me, and a enormous check

WOW Awesome! I love that game soo much.. I hope it's just like the first one, because Carmageddon 2 & 3 sucked.. Driving mechanics in the first Carmageddon were spot on, just perfect..

It would be awesome if they could also revive Screamer 2 and Bioforge. Great games!

From the Kickstarter page FAQ:
"What are your plans for other platforms if you exceed your goal?"

"We plan to produce a Mac OSX version shortly after the PC release, with Xbox 360 and PS3 following as soon as possible afterwards. (And on to even more platforms, as funds and time allow...)"

Would be nice to see it on Steam, and an Android/Linux version also.

Brings back memories of the "Artistic Expression" bonus when plowing down a crosswalk full of pedestrians while drifting through a corner.

it is on steam, thats where you redeam the codes for the game.

all that i want from this is a port of the origional game with a software render filter, and higher resolution sprites and textures, i want nothing else screwed with at all, because the 300k they are asking for and the possible 1-2 million they will get wont be enough to fund a good looking 3d game, much less a good playing one if they focus on looks.

i played this game in software render even when i had a gpu because 3d at the time really REALLY sucked.
