Case fan splitters

I have 5 fans I want to mount but only 2 fan connections (not including cpu) on my motherboard, would I be able to use two fan splitters on one connection by plugging a splitter into a splitter, or would this not work and should I just stick to the 4 fans?

You could connect a fan to the psu via molex, but you wouldn't be able to control its speed...it would run at 100% all the time. Then use splitters for the other 4.

Three fans on one header can be a bit dicey depending on their draw under load. You are best off using a powered fan hub. It connects to the motherboard for speed control commands and to the PSU for power.

To get really accurate responses, post these pieces of info:
1. Exactly what maker and model of mobo. With this we can find out what methods its mobo fan headers use to control fans, and advise on how to set fan header options in BIOS Setup.
2. Exactly what makes and models of fans. With that we can look up their power requirements. Most common fans can work with three (sometimes even four) on one header using splitters, but some fans use much more current than "common" fans. And yes, "stacked" splitters are OK if the total current pull is low enough.

With that information also we can advise whether you are better using Splitters or a Hub. These two types of device look similar but are different in important ways.
