Hi Folks,

I got a "Cat5 compatible" network jack that has color coded terminals, and in theory the color coded terminals are consistent with the Cat5 strands. But they're not . . . My strands are same as any typical wiring diagram . . . i.e. blue/green/orange etc with blue/white, green/white, orange/white etc . . . .

The terminals are are solid colors, including red, black and white. But still 8 terminals.

I'm guessing there's a way to map the colors . . . but I can't find anything on the web . . . any ideas?

Whats the brand of the network jack? It seems unusual that they tried a nonstandard color scheme, unless it's from the token ring days...

Edit: Thinking back, I recall those same colors being used for phone connections (colors vary by country, in the US it's Red, Yellow, Green, Black).
