Multi-GPU Crossfire Installation (3x5850)
Just like with the 11.1a installation, the video drivers installed just fine. The HDMI/DP Audio driver failed (the message in the installation log):
Conclusion
11.2 Driver performance in crossfire is comparable to 11.1a (~140fps average in Medal of Honor), though the install is still slightly flawed for crossfire setups. The last fully functioning (sound and video) install for crossfire setups was 10.12.
Single card installation works without a hitch.
Am I the only person with the HDMI/DP Audio / crossfire issue since the 11.1a driver release and beyond? If not, is AMD taking its customers with crossfire setups seriously? If so, does anyone know how to make the HDMI/DP Audio part of the driver install work?
Don't get me wrong, the video performance is great. But even though I don't use HDMI for my audio, what if I wanted to?
Actually, almost a 30fps drop in performance in BFBC2 using 11.2 drivers with 3 GPUs. Framerates in the 60s-80s with the new drivers. No respect for the crossfire.
I went back to 11.1a and I'm back in the 90s-110s on average.
Terrible. I am going to continue to use 11.1a until we see what happens in March.
I'd say if you're using 1 graphics card, ATI/AMD is working to keep you going. If you're using crossfire, they are not. Two months of driver issues is a customer issue.
I've heard it's the best driver for HD 5970.(Some user reported that the 100% GPU usage bug is gone)
Gonna test it and will report back with my results.

I've heard the same thing for the 5970.
Also, I'm hoping some other people with multi-card crossfire (not just multi-gpu) setups will post. Ever since 10.12, they've fixed the wake from sleep issue for the crossfire setups, but the fps performance just isn't improving. The introduction of that HDMI/DP Audio issue with 11.1 and after is just an irritant. That's just been my experience. Like I said, though, I'll run on 11.1a for now.
When the PC would go into sleep mode, you'd hit the space bar and everything would come out of sleep with the exception of the video signal. Again, not something that happened on my single-card configuration.

That's what I thought. Experiencing that exact problem with my 5870 crossfire setup. Was running 10.7, now 11.1 and it just did it again this morning. Glad to know it's at least a known problem.

You got the 11.1 drivers working with your setup? Or 11.1a?
11.1a cured the wake from sleep problem for me (but the HDMI/DP Audio install failure came along with it). You should try 11.1a if you're not using HDMI audio?
Was 11.1, but I just installed 11.1a. I'll see if that works better and no I'm not using HDMI.
One question though. Went to update my app profile to 11.1CAP1, but I am getting a .rar file and not a .exe file when I download it from ATI. How do i install the 11.1CAP1 profile. Do i need a program to decompress the .rar file?
Hey guys...Running 11.2 on a HIS 5970 with Eyefinity enabled across 3 displays @ 5760 x 1200. No problems at all, other than the standard installation errors. I posted a fix for them in this forum a few minutes ago btw.
I see that this driver is supposed to be awesome for the 5970...How so?
It kind of makes sense. It will lessen the load on the web servers.
I guess we'll have to download 7-zip or some other compression/decompression software that handles this file type if we want to install the profiles now.
Why wouldn't they just use .zip or self-extracting files just like the drivers?

What were your standard installation errors? Did you go from 11.1 or some other version to 11.2?
Also, what is the link to the thread where you posted a fix?
I went from 11.1 to 11.2. The installation errors were the same as I and many others have encountered before: "Errors on Installation", "MSI Service Failure", "Installation Failure". When uninstall is tried the same errors occur. Here is the fix I posted: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/309757-33-catalyst-installer
It has worked on every customer computer I have encountered with this error as well as my own. Hopefully you enjoy the same success.

I would have thought a complete uninstall + driver sweep was standard procedure? Hmm. Well, works like a charm for me.
Yup...Uninstall + Sweep is standard. On occasion though, Uninstall goes fine but Installation of the next driver hangs up with an error. What I posted is a fix for that situation.

Ah ok. Well, I guess I'm lucky in not having errors. I've only really had errors when trying to install without the uninstall first lol but that was a while ago now.
What version of Drive Sweeper are people using? I had been using 2.1 until I upgraded to a newer version, can't remember which. I was getting an error when I tried to annalyze with the newer version. I was going to reinstall but I discovered this on guru3d.com.
"Driver Sweeper 2.6.0 is released!
LINK temporary removed pending investigation.
Update- until further notice we will only host v2.1 as Marcel decided to add annoying ad-ware installers inside the Driver-Sweeper setup, which we are strongly against / oppose to.
Will be on Guru3D as soon as possible, already emailed Hilbert about it"
