Windows XP can not burn directly to DVDs even though you have a DVD writer.
However XP can burn directly to CDs and DVD writers can burn to CDs. If you
want to make use of your DVD writer then you will need a third party
software program capable of doing that. It is likely that your computer has
such a program installed if you purchased your system with software
installed. Consult the instructions that came with the system. If you find
you do need third party software the following is free and works well with
XP
