Hello,

I have connected both a hard drive and a cd drive on the IDE cable. With the hard drive alone, the system boots normally. With the hard drive and the cd drive, it won't boot at all.

Can you help?
Thanks!

Well I am guessing you have both drives on one IDE cable. I believe one is designated as the master and the other the slave. Usually the master is the end of the cable connector while the slave is in the middle connector. I would suggest hooking your hard drive up as the master and the cd as the slave, and make sure the jumpers are positioned as such on each drive designating their role(right next to the connector on the drive there are a set of pins, around 8-10, and usually there is a little connector that connects two of the pins. there should be a graphical representation on the face of the drive which explains what each configuration does).
I believe that should do it, I don't think you should have to fiddle with the bios. Good luck.
