CD drive problem

I have a BE6-2 MB and after I upgraded the Bios from QJ to UH I had problems with my system
detecting the Kenwood72X cd. I checked all the settings in the Bios and
played with a few and now sometimes its detected and works fine but most of the time its still not detected. I tried different Bios versions since and reinstalled the QJ but I still have the problem. Could it be just a coincidence and my drive is going flaky? Any help will be appreciated.

Are you trying to run the drive off the integrated highpoint controller? If so, don't.

***check the jumpers 1st then check em again***
