CD/DVD Rom not reading dvd discs

The dvd rom in my pc only reads CDs
but not dvd discs
I tried to delete upper and lower filters in registry
Tried to reinstall drivers
Tried to make new key in atapi folder in registry
But nothing helped

Could be that the DVD pickup is bad, it happens.
