CD-R/RW not listed on my computer.

Ok, well, I have a cd, that is also a burner, and it is also my (D:) Boot device, and when I startup, I see a light, and I see a light for an A: floppy drive, and I see a light for the hard drive. What do you see?
And some computer Specs ?

I have a dell desktop with dual deck. The player is listed as the D drive, and the Samsung recorder was listed as the E drive.
In the error logs it says;"disappeared from the system wwithout first being prepared for removal"
When i put a disk in the tray, the operation light flashes on the deck, but nothing else happens.
When I try to use any program to copy to disc, I get a"No Recorder" prompt.

Does it show in removable storage in disk management ?
Device manager show an error code ? Delete the driver & reboot.
