CD-ROM runs when I click on My Computer

Hi Folks,
Maybe someone can help me with this. When I click on "My Computer", the CD-ROM spins up and loads whatever disk I have in it at the time After this annoying wait, "My Computer" pops up just fine. This problem does not occur if there is no CD in the player. Also, this only happens the first time after booting up.
It is an ASUS 50x which otherwise seems to work fine.

It is normal. Windows just try to get the infornamtion from CD ROM (title and how much data is on the CD).

By "loading," do you mean it just spinning up, or autorunning?

It Auto-Runs. Also, it intermitantly auto-runs when I click on misc. other things. (ie. when I clicked on "Go" in my browser a few minutes ago)

'My Computer' will search all available drives (discs) on the system. If you have a floppy disc in, it will search there too with a resounding chucka chucka (I reckon my FDD is getting old LOL). Same with Win Explorer.
