Hi, my overcloc: Celeron D 2530MHz@4570MHz BOX aircooled, unstable under windows with clockgen. Using: Asus P4C800 DLX, 2x256MB OCZ DDR400MHz EL, Fortron 350W 120mm. Voltage: 1.65V 😀

CPU-Z validate report

holy crap 1.65v on a celeron d prescott? thats as much as my P4 northwood runs at!!!!!!!!!!!! that things gotta be running hot! screw benchmarks post some temps!!!!!

PSU is too little perhaps for that overclock

most cpus can post at extreme speeds but only a few can hold it at extreme speeds.

ditch the stock cooler if you havnt already done so aswell and is pci/agp locked?

I believe he could stabilize it, he should do a once over of everything, starting with the PSU, then to the memory, etc (a very common culprit, also affecting my OC). And getting some serious cooling in there probably wouldn't hurt either 😛 it just might stabilize it.

for stability i would recomend dropping u clock a little

or maybe u need a new cooler also watch ur voltage make sure ur ram isnt being ocd too this might afect stability and i presume u have agp or pci lock

LOL no way...
get some better ram and a new PSU with a little more kick.....
and go for a nice little Watercooling setup.
Enermax 6000W PSU???
corsair XMS DDR2 8000C1.5Pt
and grab a 800w CPU block and 800w Chipset block from koolance
than you could probly hit a stable 5.995Ghz

celeron ocing is kinda cheap..as in unfair.

1st. FSB is 133, so motherboards will never be a factor since p4s go to 200 on stock

2nd. DDR2, dram is set at 1:1 so ram is not a factor.

3rd. all you have to do is crank up the fsb and up the voltage.

sigh, im not bashign u or anything, just saying that celes are unfair cuz even sempys run at 200fsb

Sounds like whining to me........

This is why Celerons are king bang for the buck for audio/video encoding. I bet it is stable at 4 ghz at 1.5 volts. You wouldn't even need a board w/agp/pci locks for that speed either. Congrats!!! 😀

Screw watercooling, use LN2!

I like this guys balls.

Seems strange that this poster has an ICON already at 1 POST????? And the fact that he is not even replying.... I wonder if it is that one guy again, or maybe his buddy :)
