I've got an ASUS P2B-Celeron 400 MHz slot 1 and I want to upgrade my CPU. I was considering buying a Celeron 700 or so. The problem is that the retailers I have checked, only have PPGA (Socket 370) Celerons (I´m from Madrid, Spain). Does anybody know if Intel has released lately slot 1-Celerons? if not ¿Is there a better (and not very expensive ;-) way to upgrade my computer? Thanks

You can buy a FPPGA CEL and put it on an adapter(you have to find a good one) and i think in that way you solve your problem! The thing is if your asus supports 700cel. You must be very carefull before buy anything!

Check the Asus website and see how fast of a processor your board will support. Once you find that out, you can use a converter with a FCPGA celeron and plug that in, as mentioned in the other post. If you haven't chosen one, I'd probably go with an Asus since your board is Asus.
