I want to know of any method exists to offload cell phone graphics processing needs to a descrete gpu, such as a gtx1080. No practical reason, just want to know if such a thing can be done

Solution
I imagine latency would be the main issue with that. The time it takes to send out the data, then get it back again, would kill any gains obtained from the extra processing power. If the phone was designed for that, and the OS was designed for that, and the app was written for that, then it might be viable in theory. Someone could use Nvidia's development kit to create the program to handle things on the computer end for example.

No idea to all of the above. I'm thinking galaxy s3 trying to run a galaxy s8 compatible game. Probably the most practical way would be by USB connection to a PC unless a more portable way exists to interface with the GPU via USB
